Resumo

No cenário educacional global, a profissão de ensino tem sido há muito tempo considerada a mais nobre profissão. É por meio dos educadores que a população é atualmente dotada das habilidades e conhecimentos de que precisam para maximizar seu potencial. Assim, os pesquisadores perceberam que é crucial conhecer a percepção dos futuros professores sobre a profissão de ensino como primeira opção, a fim de fornecer dados básicos que possam revelar os fatores que influenciam a escolha e a desistência da profissão de ensino. Utilizando o método de pesquisa descritiva, os dados de uma pesquisa realizada entre os alunos do 1º e 2º ano da Faculdade de Educação foram coletados e interpretados. Após a aplicação do teste t e do cálculo da correlação de Pearson, o estudo revelou que não há diferença significativa na percepção dos respondentes do 1º ano em relação aos respondentes do 2º ano. Da mesma forma, há uma correlação moderadamente positiva na percepção dos respondentes em relação ao ensino como primeira opção e sua experiência com seus professores.
