Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a contribuição dos produtos universitários para o desenvolvimento regional. Nesse sentido, os produtos universitários de educação, pesquisa contratada, trabalho especializado, difusão tecnológica, novo conhecimento, novos produtos e negócios e produtos culturais foram analisados no contexto do estado de Alagoas. Esta pesquisa é fundamentada no método qualitativo a partir de uma visão funcionalista. Utilizou-se o software N-VIVO Pró 12 na ordenação e manipulação dos dados que foram coletados a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas e analisados a partir de técnicas, predominantemente, das pesquisas quantitativas, a saber: correlações de Pearson e análise de clusters. Os achados elucidam que os produtos universitários produzidos pelas instituições de educação superior de Alagoas possuem forte correlação e, combinados, têm o potencial de gerar o desenvolvimento da região. As combinações pesquisa contratada e trabalho especializado, difusão tecnológica e educação e novo conhecimento e novos produtos e negócios se configuraram como possibilidades no entendimento dos respondentes.
