Comunicando sentimentos através do gênero carta: um olhar sobre ação extensionista da UNEAL

ABSTRACT: During 2018, the Universidade Estadual de Alagoas (UNEAL) implemented the Third Age Extension Project at the University with 132 enrolled elderly people. The Elderly Statute, Law nº 10.741 / 2003 defines that educational actions comprise one of the rights of the elderly, and the LDB, Law nº 9394/96, in its art. 37 guarantees lifelong education. Thus, the elderly person can and must continue to be included in educational and social actions, according to their reality. The research is part of an excerpt from the Pedagogy Course Conclusion Work and aims to analyze the letters that elderly people, enrolled in that project wrote, seeking to contemplate the feelings expressed, the evaluation and the importance of such an experience in their lives. For this, the study has as methodological procedure the bibliographic and documentary research of the letter instrument. Data analysis was performed using the content analysis technique of Bardin (2011). Authors such as Bakhtin (1997), Marcuschi (2008) and Silva (2002), among others, served as a basis for understanding the textual genre and, in particular, the personal letter. Cachioni (1998), among other references, contributed to the study of successful aging. This research revealed the importance of the Third Age Extension Project at the University in promoting the physical and psychosocial well-being of the elderly people involved, and the information contained in the letters, in the form of an evaluation, provided subsidies for the continuity of the 2nd Edition of this extension action at the University.
