Mentoria formal: irmã bastarda da mentoria informal?

Este artigo tem como objetivo refletir sobre como a mentoria formal é praticada e percebida a partir do olhar da mentoria informal. O pano de fundo da análise são programas formais de mentoria relacionados ao ensino superior. O texto procura apresentar a mentoria como um processo relacional de transmissão de conhecimento de uma pessoa mais experiente para outra menos experiente. Neste contexto, é apresentado, a partir da experiência do autor, o confronto entre a teoria e prática da mentoria, especificamente, programas formais de mentoria. Além da crítica ao pensamento da mentoria formal como subcategoria da mentoria, o texto apresenta a influência de modismos como coaching e mentoring para disseminação do entendimento desta classificação. Este estudo foi desenvolvido na forma de um ensaio, observando não apenas as implicações teóricas da temática de mentoria, mas refletindo sobre a sua prática. Nesta construção, a experiência pessoal do autor, enquanto administrador de programas formais de mentoria, é levada em consideração para apresentação dos principais desafios no planejamento, seleção, emparelhamento, treinamento, estrutura e monitoramento de tais programas.
