An experience report about the male presence on kindergarten

The male presence in day care centers is something relatively new or almost non-existent, as it causes estrangement or prejudice on the part of society, since for a long time and until the present day, who occupy most positions in these educational institutions are women, also due to the fact that of the female presence to refer issues related to care and motherhood. In view of this, this study seeks to analyze some experiences lived by a student of the Pedagogy Course, at the State University of Alagoas, during the Teaching Internship of Early Childhood Education, considering the discussions focused on the male presence in the day care center, as well as gender relations. and male identity of men who choose teaching as a profession. The work has a qualitative methodological perspective, based on bibliographic research and reports of action research experiences during the internship, bringing elements of the field diary during the experiences at the day care center. The results achieved were perceptible in the changes that could occur in the pedagogical practice of the Pedagogy student, who with all the experiences during the internship broke prejudices that he himself had of himself in relation to the male presence in the day care center, which made possible a new look at the Early Childhood Education, extolling the importance of the internship for their teacher training.
