Abstract

Education is a vital process for shaping the future of society. It ́s not only a means of transmitting knowledge, but also a means of cultivating values, skills and attitudes that are essential for the creation of a healthy and prosperous society, acting as a foundation in the construction of future societies, and as we look to the future some important themes emerge, such as: Technology and Digital Education, where with the advent of new technologies and the initiator of the Covid-19 pandemic, digital education has become a major focus. Online learning platforms, virtual classes, educational apps, augmented and virtual reality are some of the tools that will transform education.

Author Biography

Maria Ester Ferreira da Silva Viegas, Universidade Federal do Alagoas

Has a licentiate degree in Geography by Universidade Federal de Alagoas (1985), a master degree in Geography by Universidade Federal de Sergipe (2004) and a doctorate degree in Geography also by Universidade Federal de Sergipe (2010) on the following topic: Ordaining and Planning of Territory. She is currently a Professor adjunto in Universidade Federal de Alagoas – CAMPUS ARAPIRACA. She has experience in Geography, with emphasis in Human Geography, acting mainly in the following topics: Historical Geography, Northeast Region of Brazil, Indigenous and Quilombola people, evaluation, land, territory, lands demarcation, urbanization. She is also the LETUR (Laboratório de Estudos do Território – Laboratory of Territory Studies) group coordinator and a collaborator in the research group Q-ARA (Grupo de Extensão e Pesquisa Qualidade do Ambiente – Group of Extension and Research on Environment Quality). At the moment she is also a post-doc intern in Universidade de Aveiro in the department of Social Sciences, Politics and Territory. Currently a member of the research group Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policy (GOVCOPP) of the University of Aveiro.
