This article aims to investigate the effects of Law No. 15.100/2025, which regulates the use of portable electronic devices in the school environment, on the daily life of a public state school located in União dos Palmares, Alagoas. The study seeks to answer the following question: how has this school dealt with the restrictions imposed by the new legislation? The choice of this topic is justified by the growing presence of digital devices in daily life, especially among young people, and by the challenges faced by schools in trying to balance the pedagogical use of technology with the need to preserve the concentration, discipline, and well-being of students. To achieve the proposed objectives, a qualitative approach was adopted, with interviews conducted with the principal, a teacher, and six students from the school. The data indicate that, although the application of the law is viewed positively by the subjects interviewed, its effectiveness in daily school life is hampered by the widespread dependence on the use of electronic devices, both by students and society in general, as well as the difficulty in controlling their use and access. The results contribute to reflecting on the role of the school in mediating the conscious use of technologies and in promoting an environment more conducive to learning.
