Resumen

En todas las instituciones de educación superior, garantizar una educación de calidad para el alumnado sigue siendo una prioridad absoluta. Por consiguiente, el bienestar de quienes están en primera línea —el profesorado— también debe tenerse en cuenta. Es necesario abordar los diversos factores de estrés a los que se enfrenta el profesorado en el entorno docente para mitigar su impacto en la salud mental y el bienestar de los educadores. La salud mental y el bienestar son cruciales para una enseñanza eficaz y una mayor productividad.

Este estudio investiga la relación entre los principales factores de estrés laboral y sus impactos psicológicos en el profesorado, con el objetivo de identificar estrategias eficaces para promover el bienestar mental en el ámbito académico. A partir de una encuesta desarrollada por el investigador y aplicada a noventa y seis (96) profesores en activo, la investigación identifica la carga de trabajo excesiva, las limitadas oportunidades de desarrollo profesional y el entorno laboral como los principales factores de estrés.

En respuesta a estos hallazgos, los participantes apoyan firmemente la implementación de iniciativas de salud mental y bienestar en la institución de educación superior, incluyendo actividades de ocio sin distinción de género, iniciativas de bienestar y la promoción de una cultura laboral inclusiva. Los resultados subrayan la importancia de las estrategias proactivas e integrales de salud mental para mitigar el impacto de los factores estresantes y promover una fuerza laboral más sana y resiliente.
