ABSTRACT: Chemistry is one of the disciplines considered difficult to assimilate, due to the fact that its contents are complex, mainly because it is worked in a traditional way involving concepts and formulas that are difficult to understand, thus making it an uninteresting discipline for students. This study is a project developed during PIBID / Química, at the Governador Plínio Ramos Coelho State School in the municipality of Humaitá-AM. Having as main objective to demonstrate the importance of the insertion of the practical classes in the process of teaching and learning of the students. The methodology used was based on qualitative field and laboratory methods. The data collection was made through observations made during the application of practical classes, and the analysis according to the students' performance. The target audience was students from the 1st phase 1, 2nd phase 2 of the EJA and students from the 2nd year 1, 3rd year 1 and 2nd year 1 of the high school night period. Therefore, this study was necessary, because through it was possible to observe a good performance of the students in relation to the subjects. It was found that the students had a greater understanding of the contents studied in the classroom, as they had good grades in the tests and work carried out during the two months. Therefore, it is expected that this study will contribute significantly to the teaching-learning process of high school students through stimulation and creativity.
