Abstract

ABSTRACT: This article presents parto of the results of a research carried out in the Zumbi dos Palmares Settlement (Campos dos Goytacazes/São Francisco de Itabapoana – RJ) between 2013 and 2015. The research aimed to study the political culture of agrarian reform settlers considering, for this, the variables associativism, sócio-political mobilization and political sophistication. Data collection was carried out through the application of a questionnaire of closed questions, interviews and the ethnographic. The results obtained show that the political culture of the settlers hás, on average, higher rates when compared to residents of the urban perimeter of the city, and that the main forms of association identified are religious and professional assotiations. In addition, through the “camp form”, teh settlers acquired a “formation” aimed at na ontological reorientation based on their relationship with the land.
