ABSTRACT: This article aims to present the result on the production of articles in Qualis Journals, highlighting objects of analysis and recurring authors from the field of the elderly in Youth and Adult Education (EJA), in Brazil. It is based on data from an investigation that took a time frame from 2008 to 2018 and started from the following problematization: What has been produced and developed in the qualis journals (A1 to B2) about the elderly in EJA? To answer this question, we opted for a quantitative and qualitative approach, with a focus on the bibliographic survey. The choice of the mentioned period was made considering the possibility of five years after the creation and institution of the Statute of the Elderly - Law 10.741 of 2003 -, which mentions in its articles 3, 20, 21 and 25 to education, in general , for this segment, even without reference to EJA, the modality responsible for the education of young people, adults and the elderly, in the context of Basic Education, there is already an expanded academic production. The study pointed out that in the studied period there is a huge lack in the number of scientific productions that portray the elderly in the EJA, considering that public policies for education for the elderly are still precarious in Brazil, and especially , when EJA is articulated. This lack appears in a forceful and little discussed way, even with the advance of the legal apparatus.
