ABSTRACT: Human activities grow in disarray, generating negative impacts on the environment. In several municipalities, urban landscaping is highlighted, mainly due to the investment offered for afforestation. Through phytosociology, which can be known as the most important species within a community, as well as establishing degrees of hierarchy between species. It is essential to assess the local urban flora, as it contributes to the development of afforestation plans. Thus, the present study aimed to carry out a floristic survey of tree species on the banks of the BR-316, located in the municipality of Satuba-AL. The vegetation is diagnosed as open tropical forest, its relief structure is part of the coastal unit of tableland. The CAP (circumference at breast height) ≥ 15 cm and the height of the trees were measured. The species were identified by specialists from the Agricultural Sciences Engineering Campus (CECA-UFAL). The data were entered in a spreadsheet for evaluation and floristic diversity was estimated according to the Species Wealth and Shannon Diversity indices. In the floristic survey carried out on BR-316 in the municipality of Satuba, 97 were computed, with distribution in 8 botanical families, the predominance of the Fabaceae and Bignoniaceae families was evaluated. Among all the specimens in this work, only 4 are found naturally in the region's biome The Shannon diversity test is one of the most necessary to assess the structure and floristic composition in wooded places, under specific conditions such as number of species and your distribution.
