Abstract

ABSTRACT: The quality of life of a population is directly related to the urban infrastructure in which it is inserted, and the Municipality of Marechal Deodoro found it vulnerable in this issue. In this sense, this analyzed the public health of the urban area of the municipality of Marechal Deodoro in Alagoas, from the point of view of environmental sanitation conditions and the composition of a system of indicators to discriminate areas with different sanitary and environmental levels, and relate these indicators with the occurrence of health problems in these areas. As a result, there were several gaps related to the implementation of public policies that guide the issues of basic sanitation, compromising the quality of life of the population and environmental health, hindering the achievement of sustainable development.
