The COVID-19 pandemic has brought great reflections and transformations on various themes and in different sectors. In the educational sphere, remote classes were already gaining space in the academic environment, today it becomes the main modality of teaching. This article aims to examine how chemistry classes are taking place at the Costa Rêgo State School of Basic Education, seeking to highlight the difficulties that students and teachers face. In addition, we sought to know how students' teaching-learning is being in chemistry. The methodology used to produce this article was a qualitative research called a case study, since data were collected and analyzed. To obtain the results, a questionnaire was used, both for the teacher and for the students. These results prove what was proposed for analysis. It is clear that the interaction between students and teachers has been compromised. In addition, a very large demotivation was outlined by the students to the chemistry classes. For all these proofs, it is clear that with the arrival of COVID-19, the need for quality education has intensified even more.
