ABSTRACT: The article aims to reflect on the racial ethnic discussion in the curricular contents of higher education, with a focus on the Biology course. This cut is due to the opportunity for one of the authors to exercise the position of monitor in a discipline that reflects and discusses about education for ethnic-racial relations "and as a student in the Biological Sciences course, empathy was immediate, as well as awareness of the gap of these contents in the pedagogical way of questioning the place that this discussion occupies in everyday school life. In higher education, the ethnic-racial issue is usually dealt with in courses linked to the areas of the so-called humanities, more precisely to the courses of Arts, Pedagogy, History and Social Sciences, which present subjects directly or indirectly linked to some of the guidelines provided for in the law. 10.639/03. Aiming to contextualize and signal the importance of racial ethnicity in higher education and with the cut in Science and Biology classes, we seek to emphasize the importance of discussing the theme of racial ethnic relations, as a proposal to combat racism, valuing diversity and the difference, as elements of sustainability of a democratic society.
