This paper presents a critical analysis of the conception of the body developed by political conservatism. This question is justified by the fact that this current presents as its ontological pillar a supposedly natural existence that, according to its assumptions, manifests itself as something divine and finished. In these terms, the objective is to demonstrate how conservatism denies human ontological complexity, which, through its numerous dimensions, transcends the existential duality restricted to body and spirit. The methodology is qualitative and bibliographical in nature, drawing on classic and seminal works of conservative political thought, to extract a set of assumptions that guide its ontology. These assumptions demonstrate that the resistance and violence directed at plural bodies are, in fact, practices grounded in one of the main sociopolitical perspectives of modernity. Thus, through the proposed explanatory path, we are able to visualize the legislative roles of conservative political grammar reserved for religion, social structure, and the idea of nature, the latter being normative and imperative. In this context, we conclude that political conservatism falls short of ontological and social needs, since it contemplates a dual complexity for these spheres.
