The study evaluated the chemical attributes of the soil under different management systems of family farming in the semi-arid region of Pernambuco, in the municipality of Triunfo. Areas of native vegetation, conventional crops (cassava, orange, and sugarcane), fallow lands, and agroforestry systems established more than 15 years ago were compared. In each area, 50 × 50 m plots were marked, within which three transects (vertical, horizontal, and diagonal) guided the collection at nine points, resulting in three samples per depth (0–10 and 10–20 cm). The samples were analyzed for pH, nutrients, organic carbon, and cation exchange capacity (CEC). The results showed that management systems directly influenced the chemical attributes of the soil. Sugarcane cultivation showed higher accumulation of organic matter and CEC, an effect attributed to no-burn residue management. Agroforestry systems, especially the more diverse SAF3, stood out for higher phosphorus levels, associated with greater deposition of organic residues. In contrast, cassava and orange crops exhibited the lowest organic carbon levels. It can be concluded that conservation practices, such as no-burn sugarcane and agroforestry systems, promote soil fertility and sustainability, representing strategic alternatives for family farming in the Semi-Arid region.
