Rostros, Cambios, Lugares y Anuncios: Trazando el Camino de Maestros Educadores de Idiomas

El desarrollo profesional, como terminar un título de grado o posgrado, es uno de los indicadores clave del avance en la práctica de la profesión. Esta investigación rastreó las experiencias vividas de los Maestros Educadores de Idiomas a través de sus rostros (características), cambios (transformación o mejora) y lugares (ascensos personales y profesionales) utilizando un diseño de investigación cualitativo-narrativo. Los 14 exalumnos de la Maestría en Artes en Educación concentración en Inglés en 2019-2021 fueron tomados como participantes del estudio utilizando una técnica de muestreo homogéneo. Con base en los resultados, los participantes se caracterizaron como más capaces lingüísticamente y altamente estratégicos después de completar su programa de posgrado. Han desarrollado confianza y practican la gestión del tiempo y han fomentado un ojo crítico para la literatura. En cuanto a sus promociones personales y profesionales, experimentaron más oportunidades de liderazgo, ascensos y aumentos salariales, y una variedad de exposiciones en el campo. Sus sugerencias para mejorar el programa fueron la asignación de asesores mientras se realizaba la redacción de tesis y la provisión de más sesiones de redacción para la redacción de tesis y la oferta de más asignaturas de literatura como optativas. Se recomienda que los hallazgos significativos del estudio se utilicen para revisar el programa, sus ofertas de cursos y la mejora del plan de estudios.
