Resumen

Este estudio explora la rica literatura popular de Cagayán e Ilocos Norte, dos provincias de Filipinas, mediante una combinación de trabajo de campo, investigación de archivo y análisis. Al documentar, traducir y recopilar narraciones orales, leyendas, canciones y registros escritos, el investigador pone de relieve el patrimonio cultural inherente al folclore de estas provincias. La interacción con las comunidades locales —a través de entrevistas y grupos focales— permitió descubrir historias ocultas y voces singulares, mientras que la investigación de archivo rastreó la evolución histórica de dichas narraciones. El resultado es una antología que tiende un puente entre el pasado y el presente, enriqueciendo la literatura ilocana, preservando la identidad cultural, fomentando el orgullo y contribuyendo al patrimonio literario de la región.
