Resumo

O estudo examinou como os participantes fizeram a transição de um ambiente de namoro tradicional para um ambiente de namoro online quando a pandemia atingiu. Uma análise fenomenológica interpretativa (IPA) foi empregada para explorar e fornecer significado às experiências de oito filipinos que usaram o namoro online através das redes sociais para buscar relacionamentos românticos. O estudo destacou que os participantes vivenciaram felicidade e conexão, o que os levou a se tornarem pessoas melhores por causa do relacionamento online. Os participantes adaptaram-se ao uso da tecnologia para expressar seu interesse, sentimentos e carinho pela outra pessoa, esforçando-se para conhecê-la, passando bons momentos uns com os outros e certificando-se de que a comunicação esteja sempre presente para garantir o outra pessoa se sentirá segura, cuidada e amada. Eles superaram desafios, mas houve questões relativas à falta de confiança e relacionamentos de baixa qualidade, como os dos namorados tradicionais no período pré-pandemia, para os quais foram recomendadas abordagens específicas à terapia de casal.
