Abstract

ABSTRACT: Comprehending the role that school education plays in contemporary society, from its practices and pedagogical actions, is extremely important. The projects and educational activities developed inside the school environment, help in the formation of citizens with critical awareness. In this regard, this paper aims to comprehend the value of the environmental education interdisciplinary projects developed by a rural elementary school - Dom Érico Ferrari Elementary State School, located in the town of Nova Palma/RS, covering the “garden at school” and “honey and its uses” projects, elaborated, respectively, with students from the 9th grade and 1st to the 4th grade. The methodology is based on a qualitative approach, held bibliographic, documentary and field research, besides the application of interviews to the people involved in the projects. As a result, the presented projects were effective, contemplating the environment education in its practices in different contexts and spaces, including the school and its community. The projects are important because of the socio-environmental debates and the critical ideas implemented in a variety of subjects of the academic curriculum, motivating the knowledge exchange, since it works with questions related to the reality of the students.

Helena Maria Beling, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)

Possui Graduação em Geografia Licenciatura (2014) e Mestrado em Geografia (2017) pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). Atualmente é Doutoranda do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geografia (PPGGEO) pela mesma instituição. Participa do Grupo de Pesquisa em Educação e Território (GPET) desde o ano de 2012. Tem experiência e atua na área de Geografia, com ênfase em Geografia Humana. Atuando, principalmente, nos temas da Geografia Agrária, Educação do Campo e Educação Ambiental.

Janete Webler Cancelier, Professora formadora UAB/CAPES da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). Pós-doutoranda em Geografia (PPGGeo/UFSM).

Doutora em Geografia pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (2018), mestrado em Geografia pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2007). Especialização em Docência para o Ensino Superior em Geografia pela UNOCHAPECÓ (2005). Graduação em Geografia - Licenciatura pela Universidade Comunitária Regional de Chapecó (2003), graduação em Geografia - Bacharelado pela Universidade Comunitária Regional de Chapecó (2007), Tem experiência na área de Geografia, com ênfase em Geografia Humana, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: espaço urbano, meio ambiente, agricultura familiar, geografia agrária e educação do campo.

Michele Hennig Vestena, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)

Possui Graduação em Geografia Bacharelado pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (2019). Atualmente cursa Mestrado em Geografia na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). Pesquisadora do Laboratório de Geoecologia e Educação Ambiental (LAGED) e participante do Grupo de Pesquisa Patrimônio Natural, Geoconservação e Gestão da Água (PANGEA/UFSM). Tem interesse nas áreas de pesquisa em: Geoconservação; geoturismo; geoparques e Educação Ambiental .

Josiane Oliveira de Campos, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)

Técnica em Meio Ambiente pelo Colégio Politécnico da UFSM (2019) e Graduanda em Geografia - Licenciatura pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Atualmente é educadora no programa de extensão "Pré-Universitário Popular Alternativa" da UFSM, pesquisadora de Iniciação Cientifica do Laboratório de Geoecologia e Educação Ambiental (LAGED) e participante do Grupo de Pesquisa em Patrimônio Natural, Geoconservação e Gestão de Águas (PANGEA). Tem interesse nas áreas de Ensino de Geografia, Patrimônio Geológico e Educação Ambiental.
