ABSTRACT: The implementation of wind farms is always sold to the local population as a development possibility. However, in practice, what is observed in a short time after the implementation of a plant is that the benefits are few in relation to the problems generated by the inhabitants. Therefore, this research aimed to diagnose environmental conflicts generated by the wind power plant in the municipality of Caetés (PE), for this purpose, participatory rapid diagnosis was used with a rural community of the municipality, through visits to the site followed by a workshop with the families of farmers in the region. As results, signs already perceived in other similar projects such as environmental damage, such as changes in ecosystem services, were found; social problems caused by the proximity of the plant to homes, generating noise pollution among other discomforts and a fall in agricultural activities.
