A Transformação do Território a partir da Transição da Agricultura Convencional para a Agricultura Agroecológica: O Caso de Agudo/RS

ABSTRACT: This text has as main theme the experiences of family farmers, in the process of transition from conventional to agro-ecological agriculture, in the municipality of Agudo /RS. Starting from the dichotomy between modern agriculture and ecologically based agriculture, the present research aims to understand how the experiences of farmers in agroecological transition in the municipality of Agudo take place. The objective is to know the agroecological strategies in the family production units in question. Through qualitative research, systematic observation, and semi-structured interviews and the field notebook, we can get to know the reality of the transition process. The transition creates alternatives that support the process of transforming agriculture, with a sustainable focus. The agroecological transition in the municipality occurs between families that, in general, were related to the cultivation of tobacco. These families are the ones that have the greatest interest in ascending in the search for ecologically based agricultural production. The families in question are taking the first step towards a process of transition to an ecologically based model, which seeks the sustainability of the environment and also of families living in rural areas.
