Ethical challenges faced by Philippine public secondary school guidance counselors under the new normal

Este estudio tiene como objetivo explorar el impacto de los desafíos éticos que enfrentan los orientadores escolares en las escuelas públicas de Nueva Vizcaya al realizar sus tareas de asesoramiento y brindar otros servicios relacionados a los estudiantes en un entorno de aprendizaje en línea provocado por la pandemia de COVID-19, y cómo abordaron el mismo. A través de una comprensión profunda de las experiencias de estos consejeros escolares de escuelas públicas, se espera poder ofrecer nuevas soluciones o estrategias para abordar de manera más efectiva tales desafíos. Utilizando el análisis fenomenológico interpretativo (IPA), este estudio examina las experiencias vividas por cuatro (4) orientadores de escuelas secundarias públicas que atienden las necesidades de asesoramiento de cincuenta y dos escuelas secundarias públicas en Nueva Vizcaya, Filipinas. Los resultados revelan que los orientadores experimentan desafíos, éticos y de otro tipo, en la prestación de sus servicios a los estudiantes. Los dilemas éticos más comunes señalados por los participantes son el mantenimiento de la confidencialidad de las divulgaciones personales y los registros de los estudiantes, las relaciones múltiples, la conciencia de la transgresión ética de un colega y el mantenimiento de límites. Los orientadores siempre serán parte del grupo de apoyo en la formación integral de los educandos, ya sea en el ambiente físico o virtual.
