Evolución de la investigación sobre hongos endófitos asociados a plantas: un análisis cienciométrico y bibliométrico (2015-2025)

Los hongos endófitos asociados a plantas han despertado un creciente interés científico debido a su relevancia ecológica y a su elevado potencial biotecnológico, especialmente para la producción de metabolitos bioactivos con aplicaciones agrícolas, farmacológicas y ambientales. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar los patrones, las tendencias y las brechas en la producción científica sobre hongos endófitos asociados a plantas entre 2015 y 2025, empleando un enfoque cienciométrico descriptivo. Se analizaron artículos indexados en la *Web of Science Core Collection*, seleccionados según criterios preestablecidos. Los datos se evaluaron mediante estadística descriptiva y análisis multivariantes, incluido el Análisis de Coordenadas Principales (PCoA). Los resultados mostraron un crecimiento continuo de la producción científica, concentrada en países como China, Brasil, India y Estados Unidos. Se observó un patrón asimétrico en la selección de familias botánicas hospedadoras, con un predominio de Poaceae, Fabaceae, Bignoniaceae, Meliaceae, Zingiberaceae y Asteraceae, lo que indica sesgos taxonómicos asociados a la relevancia económica y medicinal de dichas plantas. El PCoA demostró que la selección de familias botánicas sigue tendencias científicas y dinámicas temporales a lo largo del periodo analizado. Se concluye que, si bien el campo está consolidado, ampliar el alcance taxonómico y geográfico de las investigaciones resulta fundamental para reducir las brechas de conocimiento y potenciar el descubrimiento de nuevos hongos endófitos y metabolitos bioactivos.
