Resumo

O estudo buscou fornecer uma compreensão aprofundada das experiências vividas e histórias pessoais de professores de inglês veteranos em sua jornada de carreira. O estudo empregou um delineamento de pesquisa qualitativa de inquérito narrativo. Oito professores de inglês veteranos foram escolhidos propositalmente por meio de um método de amostragem proposital de bola de neve. As experiências vividas são exploradas por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas usando perguntas abertas suficientes para responder às questões de pesquisa deste estudo. Os dados coletados são codificados, categorizados e analisados tematicamente por meio da análise temática de Braun e Clarke. O estudo revelou que fatores como a paixão e o comprometimento dos professores, a dedicação, a flexibilidade e a resiliência permitem que os professores permaneçam na profissão de ensino por mais tempo.
