The study aimed to analyze the main historical content, distortions, values, and construction of meaning in period films. Content analysis of period films shown in award-winning theaters such as Heneral Luna and Goyo was used. The results revealed that the distortions and values were derived from the historical content of both films. Generation Z is more critical in deciphering the content of films. However, some of them also lacked historical context for each film's content. Based on the findings, a VIEWER model was created to facilitate teaching lessons on "Understanding Society, Culture, and Politics." Period films should be used in the classroom to make students' learning experiences meaningful, thought-provoking, and entertaining. In this sense, the film-watching experience becomes more engaging and reflective.
