O impacto do programa de extensão no desenvolvimento pessoal e profissional de profissionais da área de desenvolvimento infantil

Resumo

Uma das funções essenciais das instituições acadêmicas é atender à demanda por mudanças sociais por meio de programas de extensão. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o impacto de um programa de extensão de três anos no desenvolvimento pessoal e profissional de Agentes Comunitários de Saúde (ACS) em San Luis, cidade de Batangas. O estudo aplicou uma metodologia mista sequencial, envolvendo dados quantitativos e qualitativos. Os resultados mostraram uma melhora significativa no conhecimento, nas habilidades, bem como nas atitudes e nos valores dos ACS. Análises adicionais revelaram que a maioria dos ACS classificou suas maiores aquisições em atitudes e valores. O conhecimento e as habilidades foram menos frequentemente considerados como tal, possivelmente devido aos desafios na aplicação dos aprendizados do programa de extensão. Além disso, emergiram os seguintes temas qualitativos: 1) Alcançar o crescimento pessoal por meio do gerenciamento do estresse, da manutenção do otimismo e da fé; 2) Alcançar o crescimento profissional por meio da integração da tecnologia ao ensino e da promoção da comunicação; 3) Desafios relacionados ao ensino e à tecnologia, como lidar com as atitudes dos pais, a falta de orçamento e equipamentos, a conexão limitada à internet e as interrupções de energia. Portanto, recomenda-se que o governo local aloque um orçamento adicional para os Agentes Comunitários de Saúde (ACS) e aprimore as políticas atuais para apoiar ainda mais a implementação do programa na comunidade parceira.
