ABSTRACT: Chaos theory is important advancement of this science in terms of scientific method, because much of what is thought in statistical analysis was rethought from the logistic equation originated for idea of chaos theory proposed. In this context, it is important to understand the contributions and the limitations that the chaotic dynamics in natural systems. The aim of this study was to review how chaos theory and his theoretical, statistical and methodological proposals influence. The results of the review indicate an understanding that chaos theory has many limitations for ecology for several different reasons, and that in turn also makes important contributions and offers interesting perspectives for further studies and research in management and conservation biology.
