Abstract

ABSTRACT: Green manure can promote the supply of spontaneous plants, mainly due to allelopathic effects and competition. The objective of the work was to evaluate the influence of sunflower sown in different spacing, in the occurrence of weeds in permanent preservation areas. The experiment was carried out in randomized blocks, with three repetitions for each treatment. The treatments were the different spacing between sunflower planting lines, being 0.75 m; 0.55 m and 0.30 m and 0.25 m, in addition to the witness. Three evaluations of identification and collection of the flat weeds were carried out, using a hollow frame of 0.5 m x 0.5 m and the phytosociological values of frequency, density and relative dominance and importance value index were calculated. In the last evaluation, dry mass and sunflower height were provided. The main infesting species found was Urochloa decumbens, which changed the highest values for all phytosociological parameters obtained. The reduction in the density of weed plants with the increase in the density of sunflower, which can be recommended for the recovery of degraded areas.
