crisesAbstract
For centuries, educational development has evolved in tandem with all manner of social transformation. Schools, in turn—alternating between periods of crisis and stability—function like a flexible lens, at times drawing closer to and at others moving away from the elements that structure them. Whether for self-strengthening or the protection of their foundational pillars, overcoming crises broadens their horizons, positioning them as strategic, essential, and relevant instruments of social reconstruction. Education is the most robust response a society can offer to its own crises. This concept underpins the organization of this edition of *Diversitas Journal*, which addresses the theme: "Investing in education is the best alternative for all crises." While the previous issue examined the dynamics of science in the face of global geopolitical conflicts, the focus now shifts to the foundation that supports all science: education. It is worth reiterating that current educational crises do not occur in isolation; rather, they manifest as pandemics that disrupt educational trajectories, recessions that squeeze public budgets, misinformation that erodes debate, and instabilities that wear down institutions—particularly public ones. As these crises accumulate, they expose vulnerabilities that have built up over decades. Thus, the starting point for this edition is to decipher how access to cultural and scientific assets remains conditioned by social and spatial determinants.
