Factores que afectan a la empleabilidad de las personas con capacidades diferentes (PCD) en el sector de la administración local de la ciudad de Calbayog, Filipinas

Resumen

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo estudiar los factores que afectan la empleabilidad de las personas con capacidades diferentes (PCD) en el sector del gobierno local de la ciudad de Calbayog. Específicamente, buscó determinar cómo la empleabilidad de las PCD en el sector del gobierno local en la ciudad de Calbayog se ve afectada en términos de factores individuales, factores de gestión y factores externos. El estudio utilizó un método de encuesta descriptiva con un cuestionario elaborado por el investigador. Incluyó supervisores, empleados no PCD y empleados PCD de diferentes oficinas del gobierno local en la ciudad de Calbayog. Se utilizó un muestreo de población total para los supervisores y un muestreo aleatorio estratificado para los demás empleados, lo que resultó en un tamaño de muestra de 282. Se utilizaron métodos estadísticos como distribución de frecuencias, prueba t, prueba Z, correlación de Pearson, prueba de chi-cuadrado y respuestas múltiples para el análisis de datos. Los hallazgos revelaron que la mayoría de los encuestados tenían entre 22 y 30 años, eran hombres, solteros, con discapacidad visual y auditiva, tenían una licenciatura, eran empleados permanentes y estaban asignados a oficinas. Las personas con discapacidad se vieron muy afectadas por factores individuales y de gestión, y moderadamente afectadas por factores externos. El estudio confirma la teoría del Modelo Social de la Discapacidad de Michael Oliver, según la cual lo que hace que una persona sea discapacitada no es su condición médica, sino las actitudes y estructuras sociales hacia ella, y que corregir estas mejoraría la aceptación de las personas con discapacidad en la sociedad en general.
